Jimmy (Sports Today Reporter)
Kurt Oberhaus is a successful actor and filmmaker, known for Days of Our Lives, Masters of Sex, and and most recently Haunt. Kurt is originally from Davenport, Iowa but is currently living and working in Los Angeles.
Teresa (New Providence Coach)
Keyna Reynolds is an award winning actress born and raised in Huntington Woods, Michigan. She graduated from Michigan State University and after graduation she lived in worked in London as an actuary. It was in London where she also started her acting career. She had the opportunity to perform on the BBC, at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, and tour the entire country with various theatre groups. Upon her return stateside, she lived in New York City, where she performed on Broadway at Theatre Row and appeared on 'As The World Turns', one of the longest running soap operas at the time.
More recently Keyna has been focusing on a career in screen acting, with two National Television appearances in 2018. Most notably the lead role of Michelle Dickson in the new series 'Murder Decoded' on Discovery ID.
Laney (BasketBall Player)
Ava Hawthorne is a 17-year-old junior at Gilbert High School from Ames, Iowa. She is a fourth-generation Iowa high school girls basketball player. Her mother, grandmother, and great grandmother all played 6 on 6 basketball in rural Iowa.
Ava is an accomplished basketball player. She has received multiple All-Conference, All-District, and All-State honors. She holds several single-game and season records at Gilbert High School and led her team to the Iowa Girls State Basketball Tournament.
Ava has won multiple national tournaments with her AAU basketball team, All Iowa Attack, and recently verbally committed to play D-1 basketball on full scholarship at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.
She also excels in track and ran in the Iowa State Track Meet. Ava is on the honor roll with a 4.0 GPA, enjoys being on Student Council, and is president of Gilbert Key Club, the school’s student volunteer organization.
Ava is an Iowa girl. She has roots in and a strong passion for Iowa high school girls basketball.
Henry (Local Newspaper reporter)
Born and raised in the heartland, Bill Blank has quickly become the voice of the Midwest. Growing up in Iowa and attending all inner-city schools, Bill brings a unique blend of down home common sense and street smarts that makes him unlike any other comic you have seen. Bill has performed in clubs throughout the US and has a recurring role on SpikeTv miniseries "Invasion Iowa" starring William Shatner.D
junior (Laney’s Father)
James Serpento is a Resident Artist Company member of Iowa Stage Theatre Company, recently seen in The Lion in Winter and A View from the Bridge, for both of which he was nominated for Cloris Awards. He earned his MFA in Acting from Indiana University, is a founder of Kingman Row Entertainment, and has worked as stage and screen artist and educator across the U.S. for forty years.
As an actor, James’ favorite projects include St. Joan at Chicago’s Bailiwick Repertory, Teach in American Buffalo, and new plays at the renowned Chicago Dramatists, where he is a Resident Playwright Alumnus. Screen appearances include Impulse and Spread by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods (writers of A Quiet Place), The Final Season, and Thor Moreno’s Burn.
His current projects are co-authorship (with Jeff Charis-Carlson) of the book and lyrics for a new musical stage version of The Bacchae and the screenplay The Princess of Chicago (written with Alissa Tschetter-Siedschlaw). He is the proud daddy of twelve-year-old Samuel.
Patricia (Teresa’s Mother)
Kim Grimaldi is a midwestern performing artist. She grew up on the family farm that was homesteaded in 1860. Kim received a BA in Theater from Marymount College, Salina Kansas. She was very active in regional theater and when she moved to Des Moines, Iowa she was introduced to the world of film/video. She has won numerous acting awards in both genres. She is a proud member of the stagehand union IATSE since 1979.
